Seven suspected militants have been killed on Saturday in a raid by police’s counter-terrorism unit at a house in Gazipur, half a kilometre off another house raided by RAB earlier in the day.
The raid led by Dhaka metro police’s counter-terrorism unit at a house in Afarkhola area started around 10:45am.
The unit’s senior officer Additional Deputy Commissioner Sanowar Hossain confirmed the deaths of seven people to bdnews24.com in the afternoon.
Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal and counter-terrorism unit chief Monirul Islam are also on the site.
The Rapid Action Battalion’s (RAB) raid unfolded early in the morning at Gazipur’s Harinal area and around 11:30am, it confirmed two people have died.
